Which course are your students studying?
BTEC Diploma in Overseas Resort Operations (children’s couriers) and (resort reps).
Why have you decided to work with Holidaybreak?
The job roles of the courier and children’s couriers seem to fit in perfectly with the type of student we recruit for both our courses. In addition the feedback we have had from previous students undertaking roles with Eurocamp/Holidaybreak prompted me to get in touch.
What positions are your students doing for the 2009 season?
My students are undertaking Montage, Demontage, Courier and Children’s Courier roles this year.
How is this placement relevant to their course and how will it benefit them?
This will be all my students first experience of working abroad and some of the theory learnt on the course in particular customer service, problem solving and working as team will be able to be delivered for real as part of their job role. The course finishes at Easter which makes it ideal for students to make the transition from education to full time employment during this period.
What would you hope your students gain from this placement?
I would hope my students will gain valuable life long skills and experience which will equip them for further job roles and development opportunities within the Holidaybreak group.
How have they found the recruitment process?
The students in the main found the recruitment process interesting , demanding, yet rewarding. Personally I was impressed with the ease in which we were able to agree dates, times and venue. It was also brilliant that successful and unsuccessful candidates were contacted very quickly indeed after the interview.
Did they have any concerns about this placement?
As with any placement /employment overseas, the students did have concerns, however these were put at rest during the Q and A section during the interview day. In addition the company DVD answered many questions the students had.
