Apprenticeship Programme

Apprenticeships in Customer Service Levels 2 and 3

If you express an interest in completing the Apprenticeship your Assessor will complete an initial assessment with you, this along with your previous qualifications will determine if you will be completing the Apprenticeship or the Advanced Apprenticeship.

If you successfully complete the Apprenticeship then you may have the opportunity to progress the following season and work towards the Advanced Apprenticeship.

The Apprenticeship programme means that you will be undertaking a framework of qualifications. The level of NVQ and Key Skills in the framework will vary if you are completing the Advanced Apprenticeship or the Apprenticeship. Please see the below table for details:

Framework NVQ Team Skills Technical Certificate
Apprenticeship NVQ level 2 Key Skills Level 1 Level 2
Advanced Apprenticeship NVQ level 3 Key Skills Level 2 Level 3

Below are details on each component of the framework:

NVQ in Customer Service

A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) is a recognised qualification designed to show competence in the workplace, it is related specifically to the job that you do.

Technical Certificate

A Technical Certificate provides the underpinning knowledge of the Advanced Apprenticeship. The full title of the qualification is BTEC Short Course in Customer Service Level 3.

Candidates will achieve this section of the qualification by working their way through the Customer Service Workbook and answering a series of short question.  A lot of the information they need to answer these questions will be covered with you during Training and E-Learning.

Key Skills Level 2

Key Skills are a range of essential skills set out by the government to help provide all post – 16 learners with a solid basis in the Key Skills of Communication, Application of Number and IT.

If candidates have not achieved GCSE English and Mathematics grade A*-C within the last 5 years they will be required to undertake this section of the programme.

This section is assessed using two methods, 50% will be an online multiple choice test and the remaining 50% is a portfolio workbook.

As well as the Apprenticeships we also offer the opportunity for a limited number of candidates to complete the NVQ. This will be at Level 2 or 3 depending on the outcome of your initial assessment.
